許家瑜以陶瓷所創作的巨大冰淇淋散發出誘人的冰涼氣息，在炎熱的夏日讓人忍不住想靠近舔舐一口。在吸引人的甜美樣貌上，靠近一看即會發現上面站立了許多全副武裝向前進攻的士兵，原先比士兵小的冰淇淋被放大成如人般的大小，而士兵卻縮小成如螞蟻般的微小，它諷刺著士兵生命如螞蟻般的渺小，卻又為了爭奪占有的慾望，而前仆後繼被無謂犧牲。藝術家扭轉了實際物體的比例，以荒謬的視覺與場景錯置，演出一場幽默的黑色鬧劇，宣讀著人類爭奪與慾望擴張的殘酷。在販賣快樂與甜蜜的甜品店中呈現這樣的作品，強烈的對比出幸福美好的夢想與慾望爭奪的世界。
The giant ceramic ice cream created by Hsu Chia-Yu is enticingly cool and attractive. During the hot summer day people want to get as close as possible to sneak a lick. As visitors get closer, they may find many fully-armed soldiers standing at attention, ready for attack. In this scenario, the ice cream has been made the size of a person, whereas the soldiers are now the size of antsyet still prepared for attack. The artist plays with the proportions of real things and uses ridiculous visual and situational positions to present a black farce that declares the cruelty inherent in the expansion of human striving and desire. The appearance of this work in a cake shop that sells happiness and sweetness offers a stark contrast between dreams of perfect happiness and a world of competing desire.
