荷蘭藉藝術家梅拉•嘉思瑪長期定居於印尼，作品是在 2002 年發生巴里島爆炸案之後有感而發創作出來的，服飾上所集合的徽章，匯聚了來自全印尼各地的學校、政黨、教堂及公司行號等，雖看似和平相處卻也潛藏危機，隨時都有可能爆發衝突。此作巧妙地利用服裝，以西方女子的身體去經驗異族文化，對多元文化混雜之下所產生的矛盾與誤解作出提問，也在 Graniph 這個集合了世界各地藝術家所共同打造的設計 T-Shirt 樂園裡展出，希望將此處交會迸現的活力及創意，對應到對於多元文化融合的一種期待。
The Dutch artist Mella Jaarsma has lived in Indonesia for many years. This piece was inspired by the 2002 terrorist bombings in Bali. The badges on the clothing come from schools, political parties, churches and companies from across the island archipelago and although they appear to peacefully coexist, there is a hint of crisis that can potentially break out. The use of clothing and the western female form to experience exotic foreign culture offers answers to the misunderstandings created by the misture of complex diverse cultures. The work is displayed at graniph, a design T-Shirt store made by artists from across the world. While using the vitality and innovation represented by the store, this artwork expresses the hope in multiculturalism.
