挑動著你的味蕾，陳奕彰以「食」的哲學出發，再現了人們最原始的慾望。食物供應了腦袋思考所需的能量，也是生命不可或缺的來源。

全球暖化的問題隨著文明的進步日趨嚴重，儼然已成為一門極欲重視且人人關注的環境議題，「暖化」問題更造成了石油能源的危機。刻意選用代表石油工業化產品的材料「軟性塑膠—聚氯乙烯」做為創作的媒材，將無生命的工業製品材料轉換為藝術品的身分延續並且保存下來。藝術家充分運用了聚氯乙烯本身的柔軟性、透明度以及可延展的特性，再現晶瑩剔透的巨大握壽司，鮮豔剔透的材質則有如真的生魚片般。

仔細觀看，會發現一個又一個的吹嘴(如同孩童時使用的奶嘴)佈滿在握壽司的米粒和海膽上，透過充氣的過程構築出食材與料理，吹氣嘴是能量輸入的媒介，將食的哲學運用在作品與空間場域當中，強調「民以食為天」，將人們對於食的重視表現在藝術創作當中。於此，藝術家以無生命的材質，展現了能量與生命力的擴張與慾望的無限延伸。

Chen Yi-chang seeks to challenge visitor’s taste buds, his works starting out with the philosophy of “food,” as a way of showcasing that most primitive of human desires. Food provides the brain with the energy it needs to think it is also an absolutely essential component of life.

As human civilization advances the problem of global warming becomes ever more serious, so much so that it is already an environmental issue of great importance that attracts considerable attention. The problem of “warming” has also given rise to the oil energy crisis. Chen deliberately uses a material that represent the oil based industrialized product “flexible plastic – polyvinylchloride (PVC). As a creative medium, the artist takes a lifeless industrial manufactured product and transforms it into a work of art, an identity that is extended and retained. The artist makes full use of the flexibility, transparency and stretchability of PVC, to re-produce the crystalline nature of a huge piece of Sushi, the brightly colored crystals making it look like real pieces of raw fish (sashimi).

Look carefully and you will find that the grains of rice and sea urchin in the sushi are covered in mouth pieces (resembling pacifiers used for young children). The process of blowing air into the work and creating food, the mouthpiece is the medium for the infusion of energy. In this way, Chen utilizes the philosophy of food in his works and the space in which they stand, emphasizing that “people live by food”, expressing the importance people attach to food in his creative work. In this way, the artist takes a lifeless material and uses it to highlight the expansion of energy and life force and the boundlessness of desire.
