藝術家徐瑞憲常以不同媒材與來探討環境變遷的主題，作品《一種行為》以模仿生物行為為基礎，看似冰冷的媒材與機械，卻讓人聯想倒沙灘上一群掀殼張望的寄居蟹。而機械的緩慢對應著現代社會的快速，人們則在觀看過程中，靜觀、等待、或回應。

寄居蟹與其他物種之間的關係特殊而微妙，除了「寄殼而居」，寄居蟹雖為海洋生物，卻因棲地多為人類可以親近的沙灘，許多人童年時光中最有趣的畫面少不了與之追逐的記憶，藝術家將此互動延伸至作品呈現，稱之為「一種行為」，此「行為」在徐瑞憲的藝術表達中具有深刻的意義，不僅是互動語言的呈現，同時藉由藝術行為的觀照，提出對環境變化的內在省思。

Shyu often experiments with different material or media to explore the theme of environmental change. Based on bio-mechanical movements, One Kind of Behavior is made of seemingly cold machines which are reminiscent of hermit crabs on the beach peeking from underneath their shells. They move in slow motion, in stark contrast to modern society where everything moves at high speed. Viewers can choose to observe, wait, or respond to these slow moving objects.

Hermit crabs house themselves in used shells; in this way they form a special relationship with other species. They are sea creatures spotted quite often on the beach, their natural habitat. Many of us have spent the best part of our childhoods chasing hermit crabs on the beach, an image that has become the theme of this work ‘One Kind of Behavior’. The behavior symbolizes the interaction between man and animal and compels us to reflect on the environmental consequences of our actions.
