Da-an 56. Special thanks to Fubon Life, whose sponsorship has helped open the door to this exquisite mansion.
The house sits in the busiest area in Taipei’s East District. Inside the brick walls are memories and traces of the past forty years of residence. Against the backdrop of commerce and investment where the economic value per square kilometer takes precedence, the brick house offers an urban rarity of lush trees. The towering and exotic building appears slightly awkward yet modest. It has sat there as a quiet bystander for the past decades.
This is a street view of Taipei’s East District. It represents the essence of life free of speedy consumption and seasonal trends. Together, the works of fourteen artists tell a story about the self and the space that change with the passage of time.
