蘇孟鴻的創作表現向時尚設計界取經,帶有濃厚的裝飾意味,此展出系列作品的圖案,取自先前創作「開到荼靡」的畫作局部(這些畫作挪用自清朝宮廷畫家郎世寧的畫作),經過剪裁、旋轉、以及鏡像等方式重組,印刷出重覆且斑駁效果的圖案,使它們看來像是古畫,藉由對古物質感的模擬,讓歷史感在此也被轉化成能被消費、靈光熠熠的情調。
Su Meng-Hung’s strongly decorative expression is from the field of fashion design. The patterns come from part of his earlier painting “ 開到荼靡 ”(using the works of Ching Imperial Court painter Lang Shih-Ning). After editing, rotating, and using mirror images as part of the reconstruction process, the artist prints mottled pictures so that they resemble ancient paintings. Imitating the texture of ancient objects transforms this history into consumption.
