簡介
英國威爾斯出生的藝術家Tim Budden，十數年前因緣際會下造訪了台灣，便再也離不開這塊可愛的土地。定居台灣後Budden其實一直從事英文教師一職，但偶然在友人贈送的剪紙書中獲得啟發，重拾孩提時期的藝術家夢想，將福爾摩沙的新奇生活體驗，轉換為剪紙世界的無限想像。
為了今年粉樂町展覽，Budden細心研究了i prefer當季衣飾的色彩圖紋，並將之融入此次的創作中。對藝術家來說，手中的剪紙就和衣物一樣，都可視為「第二層肌膚」──覆蓋遮蔽中卻又風采盡顯，取決於「隱」或「現」之間的微妙拿捏。
i prefer安和概念店在都市中另闢寧靜空間，身為為國內設計師品牌，以H. A. L .F精神為基礎──handworks、arts、lo-has、fashion代表服裝與人文藝術間密不可分的關係。店中處處驚喜，小藝廊、骨董家具、新奇有趣的概念商品…來杯咖啡，感受品牌的溫度！
Tim Budden, born in Wales, visited Taiwan more than a decade ago, and has not left ever since. After settling down in Taiwan, Budden worked as an English teacher; however, he accidentally found inspiration in a paper cutting book that a friend gave him, which rekindled his childhood dream of becoming an artist. He now expresses his experiences in Formosa through his infinitely imaginative cut paper artwork.
For this year’s Very Fun Park exhibition, Budden carefully studied the colors and patterns of i prefer’s seasonal line, and integrated them into his work. The artist sees both paper cutting and clothing as a “second skin,” allowing us to cover up just enough while showing the world what we want it to see.
This concept shop of i prefer has created a quiet space in the city. As a brand based in Taiwan, it represents the close relationship between clothing and the humanities with the basics of H.A.L.F. (handworks, arts, lohas, fashion). Within the shop are many surprises, a small gallery, antique furniture, new and interesting concept products… why not enjoy the atmosphere with a nice cup of coffee?
