Pictures are the first things we read. When we are little we always want our bookcases to be filled with picture books and most especially pop-up picture books. These are often things children can’t put down, each page turning into its own paper sculpture as it is turned, almost as if a scene from the story appears before our very eyes. The pictures jump out at us page after page and as we turn the pages we are drawn into the different plots of the story.
