The illustrations of Valeria Petrone portray a duality of viewpoint, her relaxed and refined brushwork infused with a grey-blue melancholy. The artist observes the way in which people interact in daily life and from that uncovers detailed simple stories. Her works pay great attention to detail and are extremely vivid, relating stories that are filled with childlike pleasure and innocence. Hidden within the scenarios depicted in these cute children¡¦s stories can be found the slightest hint of inner ferment from somewhere deep inside the artist. This can be traced back to the simplest state of mind and constitutes a reflection of life and existence, and an earnest desire that a little change will bring perfection. At the same time it also challenges our passion for art.

Mori¡¦s work is made up from amusing lines and a collage of colors, to create shapes that can resemble people, animals or monsters. The simple colors and irregular lines are used to construct cute, amusing images. Mori opens a tiny door into the world of imagination and invites us to look carefully at the different possibilities and imaginings that occur, vaguely familiar shapes detached from reality that could exist in a fantasy world, in fantastical fragments within which the imagination soars to new heights.
