黃蘭雅以個人情感、生命、記憶、身體等經驗狀態，將自我內在的抽象情感透過「熱熔膠」的材質來表達。而「熱熔膠」的特色，就像生命胚胎成形的最初，是來自於液體的流動狀態，隨著演變漸漸轉化固定成形，而這種柔軟可塑卻又堅固強韌的特質，正呼應生命本質多變堅韌的無限可能。作品中充滿了色彩鮮豔豐富的各種有機形體，彷彿一朵朵初開綻放的美麗花朵，營造出虛實夢境般的世界。
Huang Lan-ya makes use of emotional, life, physical and memory experiences to express her own inner abstract feelings - using a glue gun. The essence of the glue gun is much the same as that of an embryo in its initial stages as it takes shape. It starts life as a flowing liquid state and evolves gradually into a more fixed shape. This combination of soft malleability and strong durability provides an echo of the infinite possibilities inherent in the changeability and strength that are essential in life. The piece is filled with various brightly colored organic shapes, like a flower shop’s rich array of blooming flowers contrasted with real plants, creating a world that is an intriguing combination of real and artificial.
