For Chung Shun-Wen, creation is both a kind of record and a way to preserve memories. She still remembers the colors decorating her grandmother’s silhouette, long after she had passed away. Cath Kidston was founded by its namesake in 1993 in London. Inspired by the nostalgia that arose after seeing retro merchandise at a flea market, Kidston created a homeware shop selling vintage fabrics, wallpaper, and brightly painted antique furniture that she remembered fondly from her childhood.
