周榆茵畢業於香港藝術學院，並取得該學院的藝術學士及碩士學位。她的作品多半關於球狀體，因為她認為這是最原始、最基礎的形式。她的藝術作品取材自皮革，一種經過各種重化工業處理過的有機物質，充滿著矛盾對比，特別是所有素材緊密的織合在一塊。理應屬於兒童的玩具卻巨大到無法把玩。這個作品是對於成人世界的一種反諷。 |
April Chow studied at the Art School of the Hong Kong Arts Centre, where she got her B.F.A. and M.F.A degrees. She likes to work with the ball shape as she regards it as the primal, essential form. Making art out of leather, an organic material that has gone through heavy chemical and industrial treatment, is full of contradictions, especially when the artist sewing it together with such intimacy. It is a children’s toy that is too big for them to play. It is a work of irony for the adults. |
