留學法國的常陵，其作品「黃孩子的叫喊」，是對孩童情感流露的省思。十位抽象造型的小孩在高聲叫喊，像是雪糕匙的頭，是在大笑或是大叫？是要發洩情感還是要爭取注意？這含糊性令欣賞作品更具玩味，童真的集體叫喧，熱鬧得來卻又寂靜無聲，像是未能全然表達的熱情和生命力，要讓全世界都聽到他們的聲音。 |
Shout from Asia is a reflection on childlike expression. This piece takes the semi abstract images of ten yellow children with the heads of ice-cream scoops. What are these kids doing? Are they laughing or screaming?
Do they want to express certain emotion, or just want to get attention? The ambiguity of the work makes it enigmatically charming. A collective screaming, energetic but yet silent, as if they are trying hard to express their passion and energy, begging the world to listen to their voices.
