韓國藝術家權奇秀是韓國新興藝術的重要開拓者，他創造了名為「當咕尼」(Dongguri)的角色，不時出現在他的繪畫、雕塑和錄像藝術作品中。「當咕尼」的造型猶如小孩子的塗鴉「公仔」，簡單直接，神情和外表天真爛漫，但其真正身分仍是個謎。這個簡單角色，親和可愛，並不刻意探討任何複雜理念，只是輕鬆地生活。透過藝術，權奇秀把簡單形象充氣放大，或鑄成鋼鐵，時而仰臥台上、時而貼在牆邊，或是站在路中，像是要求來個單純的對話。 |
Korean artist Kwon Ki-Soo has created a character called Dongguri. Dongguri appears in many of his works of different media, including painting, sculpture and video art. Dongguri’s innocent expression and childlike appearance have charmed many people, though his identity remains a mistery. Warm and lovely, Dongguri is a simple character who does not like to answer big questions. It simply lives. Through his artistic creations, Kwon elaborates a simple image by blowing it up and resting it on a table, casting it into steel, hanging it on the wall, or simply standing it in the middle of the road. All Dongguri wants is a friendly dialogue. |
