眼前長角看似鳥形的怪獸，以及各式超現實場景的空間描繪，是藝術家林義隆對於日常生活與生命經驗的想像與觀察。在所創造出的奇異空間裡，充滿了似獸非獸，似人非人的個體，它們是作品中的主角，同時也是藝術家想像來自於神秘異次元的個體，然而這些幻獸的形體卻又並非由某一種任何你我所知的生物體再現，而是來自於對於任何事件的想像，又或是混合各種經驗重塑完成的新個體。透過這些變異的個體，林義隆試圖投射現實生活周遭各種情感的記憶，且曾經所存在的狀態遺留下的痕跡。
CAFE SHOWROOM成立於2011年，第一間店位於富錦綠茵旁，第二間店位於松山文創園區的誠品一樓，以藝術展覽為主軸，定期展出國內外新銳藝術家的作品，是一個有著咖啡、茶、甜點、一杯紅酒，以及認為人生一切美好事物的都應該被收藏起來的空間。
At first glance, the horned birds in this fantastical and surreal composition may not elicit the familiar. The bird-like creatures, human-like shapes, and beast-like animals in Earth House represent artist Yi-Lung Lin’s observations of everyday life. However, none of these supernatural figures were derived from real life; rather, they are hybrids of Lin’s various experiences and imagination. Concocted with the residues of his emotions and memories, the subjects of this work symbolize the nature of life.
Founded in 2011, Café Showroom strives to be “a space for coffee, tea, dessert, wine, and a belief that life’s moments should be collected and cherished.” Its second store is located in Eslite Spectrum Songyan Store, and regularly exhibits artwork to bring art into its customer’s daily lives.
