“Timeless memories have been transformed from black and white images into vivid ones. The wonderful images of the bygone time manifest themselves in a picture in the form of colorful metal foils.”

Hu Ta-Hua was born in Jiu Fen, a mountain village in Northern Taiwan. When he was not busy with his work at the hardware dealership, he began to play with his most familiar material at hand, i.e. metal, by subjecting them to cutting, hammering, and pasting. This was the onset of his career in metal mosaic. With his flair for liberal aesthetics, coupled with an acute sense of color, he uses a hammer as paintbrush and metal foils as pigment to render the beauty of Jiu Fen in paintings on after another. His ingenuity has brought to life the rustic old mountain towns and the gilded years of the past.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Fubon Group. We have invited the artist to contribute his creativity based on the the concept of environmental protection and public welfare. He adopts recycled beverage cans as his base material and advances recycling to the level of artistic creation.

Fubon Insurance Building is the landmark of ingenuity that symbolizes the sensible and sturdy steps Fubon has taken over the past fifty years. The march towards a new era should be carried out with equally respectful attitude for environmental protection, creativity and a gratitude for life.
