For a long time, Tseng Wei-Hao’s creations have focused on the exploration of the interactions among “sound/space/body.” As a result, the gigantic sound installation that occupies the entire exhibit room, the contact between the fingertip and conductive ink, the interactive chatter produced by using the body as a conducting medium, the artist attempts to emphasize that, apart from visual impression, there is another sensual experience waiting for us to explore, “to seek for people’s genuine feelings in a standardized, controlled environment.”
The artwork consists of painting black lines on the glass using conductive ink. The artist has endowed the lines with shapes of trees and horns. Through the body’s contact with the black lines, the difference in the body’s conductivity creates noises, such as chirping of birds. Through the glass, one can see the outside scenery and the imagination also bonds the outside scenery with the artwork in the house together through interaction with the body. |
